<p><em>Updated with Vimeo version, ROFLCon panel, links and source list.</em></p>
<p>My latest supercut which premiered at <a href="http://roflcon.org/">ROFLCon III</a> in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The soundtrack and more great music by my brother Joel can be found on his <a href="http://joelrobson.bandcamp.com/track/three-point-landing">bandcamp page</a>.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been getting a few YouTube comments asking for a list of where all the clips came from so I&#8217;ll put that at the end of this post. Apologies if you&#8217;ve been waiting for this or if I missed your favourite three point landing. If you see a new one, please leave a comment here or add it to the <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ThreePointLanding">TV tropes page</a>. Maybe I&#8217;ll revisit this supercut one day.<br />
<span id="more-267"></span><br />
The full supercuts panel with with <a href="http://waxy.org/">Andy Baio</a>, <a href="http://www.aaronvaldez.com/">Aaron Valdez</a> and <a href="http://fourfour.typepad.com/">Rich Juzwiak</a> is available to watch on YouTube thanks to <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/popspot">PopSpot</a>. I&#8217;m in part 3 but you should watch the other guys as they are way more interesting.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/LJDi5fVAK98?rel=0" frameborder="0" width="560" height="315"></iframe></p>
<p>As I did with <a href="http://dunk3d.com/2010/02/10/the-enhance-thing/">Let&#8217;s Enhance</a>, here are some notable places where this video showed up (in no particular order):</p>
<p><a href="http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/superheroes-always-make-three-.html">Roger Ebert&#8217;s Journal</a>: Crazy. There must be well known editors of actual movies who have never been mentioned by Roger Ebert. Can&#8217;t wait to use his &#8220;nifty&#8221; quote on a poster.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.edgarwrighthere.com/2012/06/30/supercut-sunday-the-pre-mortem-one-liner-three-point-landing/">Edgar Wright&#8217;s Supercut Sunday</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/5/3001082/three-point-landing-supercut">The Verge</a>: I was also interviewed by the writer of this piece for this <a href="http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/10/3012084/roflcon-i-saw-god-and-put-it-on-youtube">short video about ROFLCon</a>.</p>

<p>In December last year I made this supercut for the Columbus Museum of Art. It&#8217;s currently showing there as part of their <a href="http://www.columbusmuseum.org/exhibitions/#currents-latifa-echakhch">Currents series</a>. I&#8217;ll write a more detailed post on it soon.</p>
<p>In related news, I have been invited to appear at ROFLCon III in May, where I will be on <a href="http://roflcon.org/2012/02/15/the-supercuts-panel-roflcon-iii/">Andy Baio&#8217;s supercuts panel</a>. Really excited about this. I&#8217;m working on a new supercut for the occasion.</p>
<p>Follow me on <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/dunkr">twitter</a> and <a href="http://dunk3d.tumblr.com/">tumblr</a> for more regular updates. If all goes to plan, I&#8217;ll be graduating from Animation Mentor in the summer so I&#8217;ll post some of my animation work here soon.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m back in the UK for a while and I&#8217;ve just been accepted as a student at <a href="http://www.animationmentor.com/">Animation Mentor</a> which is a great online school I discovered while I was in San Francisco. If you&#8217;re reading this, you are probably also an AM student, so hi!</p>
<p>Over the next 18 months, if I can succesfully juggle my animation schooling with work, I will use this blog to document my transformation from motion editor/crowd TD to ANIMATOR.</p>
<p>This new focus should result in more regular updates on this blog starting with bouncing balls and progressing to characters and acting. Eventually, if all goes well, I&#8217;ll have an awesome new animation reel when I graduate. Hopefully I&#8217;ll still have time for the occasional silly sideline which I&#8217;ll stick on my <a href="http://dunk3d.tumblr.com/">tumblr</a>. I&#8217;m also <a href="http://twitter.com/dunkr">@dunkr</a> on twitter.</p>

One day, after seeing <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch#v=3uoM5kfZIQ0" target="_blank">this clip from CSI</a>, I was seized by a strange compulsion to collect every example of cheesy tv and film image enhancement I could find and edit them into a short video.</p>
<p>I started by asking for examples on <a href="http://ask.metafilter.com/136839/Examples-of-image-zoomingenhancement-clich-from-moviestv" target="_blank">ask.metafilter.com</a> and the first answer, a link to the <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EnhanceButton" target="_blank">Enhance button</a> page on <a href="http://tvtropes.org/" target="_blank">tvtropes.org</a>, was probably the most useful resource. I also used various torrent, subtitle and transcript sites. I spent a few weeks downloading and editing, and managed to get it done before the Christmas break. My brother <a href="http://soundcloud.com/joelrobson" target="_blank">Joel</a> did some great music in Garage Band which I re-cut the video to. After uploading to YouTube I posted it to my <a href="http://dunk3d.tumblr.com/post/281541727/letsenhance" target="_blank">tumblr</a>, <a href="http://www.b3ta.com/links/406290" target="_blank">b3ta</a> and <a href="http://waxy.org/" target="_blank">waxy&#8217;s</a> amazing <a href="http://waxy.org/2008/04/fanboy_supercuts_obsessive_video_montages/" target="_blank">supercuts</a> page (to which I&#8217;d previously contributed <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKMJDP-G4gU" target="_blank">&#8220;My Arse!&#8221;</a>).</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="295" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vxq9yj2pVWk&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="295" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vxq9yj2pVWk&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object><span id="more-102"></span></p>
<p>I was pretty pleased with how it turned out but I&#8217;d never have predicted that 6 weeks later it would have over HALF A MILLION views. It&#8217;s been pretty exciting seeing my little video spread around the internet. It&#8217;s unlikely I&#8217;ll ever repeat the success of &#8220;Let&#8217;s Enhance&#8221; so I thought I&#8217;d use this blog to catalog some of the more interesting or surprising places it showed up. Reading the comments on some of these blogs I&#8217;ve found some great enhance clips I missed and even learnt something about <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eigenvalue,_eigenvector_and_eigenspace" target="_blank">Eigenvalues</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://waxy.org/links/" target="_blank">waxy.org/links</a>:  Andy Baio got the ball rolling. <a href="http://waxy.org/2008/05/star_wars_kid_the_data_dump/" target="_blank">He&#8217;s good at that.</a> He even sent me a nice email.</p>

<p><a href="http://twitter.com/feliciaday/status/6812816776" target="_blank">Felicia Day</a>:  Popular actress and geek. I wonder if she knows any of the actors doing the enhancing.</p>

<p>A seminar series on genre fiction at King&#8217;s College London is called <a href="http://letsenhance.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">&#8220;Let&#8217;s Enhance&#8221;</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://clientsfromhell.tumblr.com/post/380735068/lets-enhance" target="_blank">Clients From Hell</a>:  It doesn&#8217;t stop! Just yesterday it was blogged here which means new followers on tumblr, <a href="http://twitter.com/#search?q=Vxq9yj2pVWk" target="_blank">twitter mentions</a>, youtube subscribers and a bunch of comments.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s been fun but also pretty distracting, especially when I&#8217;m supposed to be looking for work. This is why I felt the need to write all this down, so I can concentrate on the next thing. It won&#8217;t be another supercut. It might be an animated short.</p>
